CRAPPIE: The Labor Day weekend is now behind us and the fall crappie season is about to get underway! As a lot of people are putting their boats up for the cold months ahead, the crappie anglers are getting ready to hit the water!  We have been out on the water some over the past few weeks catching some some nice stringers of crappie early in the morning and late in the afternoon. The fish are still holding around the deeper brush and stumps along the river channel ledges in 14+ feet of water and have been coming on live bait. But, the fishing is about to really improve as we get into the fall crappie season. The fall season will get underway around the end of the this month and continue into December. As we start getting some cooler weather and water temps start to fall the crappie will get really active. During the fall you can catch crappie using two different methods. You can catch them shooting docks in late September through October or you can fish the river ledges the entire season. Both of these methods will produce some really nice stringers of crappie. The fall season will run from late September into December. We are already booking up for the fall season so give me a call ASAP if you would like to get in on the fall action.  We will be on the water over the next few weeks and I hope to have another good report in a few days. Remember there is a 10 inch size limit on crappie on Weiss Lake and the daily creel limit is 30 per person, per day!  See Ya' on the Water!
