Weiss Lake Guides Fishing Report

Call now to book your Fall crappie trip on Weiss Lake!!!

Updated...October 7, 2014

CRAPPIE: The fall crappie season is underway on Weiss and is fantastic right now! We were out on a half day trip this morning (Tuesday) fishing with Gyles Williams from Lexington, Kentucky and Gary Kinier from London, Kentucky. We had an outstanding morning and caught a limit stringer of 60 Weiss Lake slabs. These were all caught on live bait fishing the creek and river channel ledges. The crappie are also around the deeper docks so you can catch them using different methods. The fish are still holding on the deeper docks near the river and creek channels. Right now you can use either technique to catch crappie and fill the live well. This will continue throughout the month of October. The ledges will continue to produce stringers of crappie into December. We will be out on the water a lot over the week and I hope to have another great report coming in a few days.  Also just a reminder for everyone, Alabama Power has now started the winter draw down on Weiss Lake and will be dropping the lake level over the next several months. It will drop slowly but should be about 6 feet low by late December. Use caution due to the low water levels this fall while your out chasing those crappie. The fall season is underway and we are booking up fast but we still have a few dates open. Give me a call today to get your dates reserved! I will be on the water a lot over the next few weeks and I hope to have another good report in a few days. Remember there is a 10 inch size limit on crappie on Weiss Lake and the daily creel limit is 30 per person, per day!  See Ya' on the Water!
